What are people usually paid for beginning clerical work?

If anyone here works as a clerk, can you share what your hourly wage was/is? I'm just wondering if my how much my dad pays me is at or over the usual starting wage. I doubt it; he's a ferengi.

From what I've seen, it generally runs somewhere between $7.50 - $9.00 an hour.
