New secretary: How to write a FAREWELL message to a leaving employee?
Asked by Deelite Me!
I am a new secretary, and I've been asked to write a farewell message/party invitation for a leaving staffer.
I have some background information on him, and I know it should be brief.
Could someone help?
He's worked in our department for two years.
He's making a lateral move----same position---but another office.
I don't know much about him.

Dear 'Dave',
You have been such a valuable employee and coworker to everyone here. Your dedication, spirit (and creativity?/perhaps you can ask the office staff about some person qualities about him) will be sorely missed. We all wish you great success and contentment in your new position. Thankfully you will still be a part of 'this company', and hopefully you won't be a stranger :)

Well, you need to give more info, like how long he has been there and what he did and how important to get the best message possible.
