Is there anyone who works in customer service, who is happy in their job?
Asked by Babe K
I work in customer service and I absolutely hate my job. I detest customers and I am just miserable, all the time. Is there anyone who works in customer service, who enjoys what they do? What do you enjoy about the job?

Probably not (well I'm not anyway); personally my problem is I only think about the problems and disattisfied customers when I leave work each day. It is so nice though when someone makes a point of telling you that they are really happy with something. This is a thing I try to make a point of doing myself. The problem is most people will only say something if there is anything wrong. There will be lots of satisfied customers, but they don't tell you.
Have been dealing with the public all my working life.

believe me, we customers feel the same about customer service workers who hate their job. It shows when you deal with us, we're not all horrible but we're all treated like we are sometimes!

To make it in customer service, you have to have a thick skin and learn not to take it personally. I make a game of it and keep score. I give myself positive points for every customer I leave on a positive note. I found that the more positive points I receive, the happier I am at the end of the day. Most angry customers only want to be heard and not interrupted.
