Does the first lady get a salary? It seems like she's expected to do a lot but I don't think she gets paid?

So wouldn't that be a form of sexual discrimination? If she gets paid it's one thing but if she's obligated it's another? It's very caveman if she's obligated to a role which makes women volunteer etc...Are there guidelines? Yes I would want to be paid. I think it's the ultimate discrimination message that women "don't need to be paid for their work". It's like a 40-50's movie playing in my head...about the proper ROLE of a good little house wife!
