Best Answer:
In a physician office, but it depends on the state you live in. States regulate what each profession can do and if that limits you too much in an office... then they won't use you as much. In NY MAs are used very much in MDs offices there are very few nurses, but you can't give immunizations or any injections and that is a big limitation. Good Luck, check your state

It's a cool job that could find you at any type of doctors office or even in an office of a medical supply company. Good job and one we will always need. Google the job and see where it leads!

you would work in a doctor's office, clinic, or some place like that. it is like being a secretary. a medical assistant does things like blood pressures, temps, and those kind of things so it is very different

There actually aren't supposed to be too many jobs for the medical assistant (or medical biller or coder) despite what those private $$ schools say. The med office assistant is basically the same as the MA but probably without as much clinical, hands-on experience as Not learning or practicing phlebotomy (drawing blood) or performing ekg/heart (electrocardiogram) tests. Med billing may be taught in the curriculum too, but my cousin recently got laid off from her billing job of five years due to the company outsourcing to Asia/India which is unfortunately pretty common these days. If still interested, please only consider the more affordable county vo-tech school or community college as long as it's accredited within the industry. General career info: http://www.bls.gov/oco and can search 'medical assistants', 'secretaries and administrative assistants' or such.
