Do you really LOVE cooking? If you really love it, and you are really, really good at it, and you love working under very high pressure, then you might do well. Look up Hell's Kitchen on YouTube, if that looks like fun to you, then go for it!
specifically, look at "The Best of Gordon Ramsay from Hell's Kitchen Series 3" then decide if you want to be a chef.

Unless you are willing to travel wherever the need is to be a chef, it's not a good career choice right now, especially in this economy with restaurant business down
