What are my chances of getting a truck driver job?
Asked by jr
I got my class A CDL in April 2006, I went to a pretty good school that was two months long. I have driven sporadically since finishing and I have only driven class B straight trucks and school buses. What are my chances of getting a job driving combination trucks?

Very good! Call one of the big companies, Go back to one of there schools. Guarantied job with them. On conpleation of there school. Then learn why 95% of all truck driver give up and quit before they have 1 year of driveing in. + extra tuition to pay, For school. Great way to waste a year of your life. Why there is and allways will be a shortage of drivers.
30 years experiance in truck driveing.

you may need to take a refresher course.. but a Class A is a Class A... as long as your background/driving record is clean you should be good.. problem is with the economy right now, I have called around, not alot of trucking companies are hiring and alot of trucks are sitting, my Father in law has confirmed this and he owns his own rig and has over 30 years experience driving and he is barely keeping his rig moving..but if one is hiring and you got credentials you are good to go...literally
