Principal Officer-Corridor Planning

Salary: $90,000 to $115,000

Summary of Duties:
The Principal Officer Corridor Planning, will manage projects and provide technical support for various state and regional initiatives related to corridor improvements. The position is a point of contact with the state and governmental officials, municipal planning organizations, host rail carriers and stake holders within the Central states.

Must have significant experience in infrastructure project management related to railway operations, including working closely with state and local officials. Prefer experience in railway field operation including building consensus among governmental agencies, host railroads, consultants and other corporate departments.

Must have proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.

Must be computer literate with competency in data base and scheduling programs, Excel and Microsoft Word.

Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Must interact effectively with outside agencies, consultants and other departments within Amtrak.

Must have five to ten years experience and a BS degree in engineering or technical related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience. Prefer MS degree in functionally related areas.

Responsibilities include oversight of development projects, management of consultants, negotiating and managing contracts and projects with Amtraks state partners, corridor and facility planning, involvement with environmental and public outreach programs, and building strategic relationships among various interests.

Position assists with all aspects of assigned projects as required.
