POSITION SUMMARY:
• Maintains the schedule for the physicians and crew members to optimize patient satisfaction, provider time and most effective utilization of examining and treatment time.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Maintains and/or creates resource (mobile units) calendars for units without supervision.
• Answers incoming scheduling calls (Hotline).
• Maintains schedule for the physicians and crew members advising of cancellations and schedule changes.
• Registers patients into PiMS and screens insurance information of patients to verify coverage and approval.
• Acts as coordinator for one or more assigned partnerships to facilitate communications in that area.
• Endeavors to keep patients on schedule by reminding providers (hospitals) of service days and or delays.
• Coordinates special stops for any physician.
• Notifies supervisor and transportation manager when any crew reports mechanical difficulty or the occurrence and nature of any communication concerning problems.
• Maintains open channels of communications with facilities and physicians to ensure the continuity of care.
• Responsible for the security of member files.
• Generates reports for management.
• Performs in other duties and special projects as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • High School Diploma or equivalency required.
• Minimum of three years experience scheduling medical procedures in a multi-physician, surgery center, hospital, etc. preferred.
• 1-2 years experience as a Scheduling Coordinator I preferred.
• Must be able to communicate effectively by telephone, e-mail and in person with customers, co-workers and supervisors.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, excel, word, etc.)
• Knowledge of medical terms and medical insurance processing preferred.
• Able to handle sensitive and confidential situations
• Strong organization and time management skills; able to multi-task.
• Detail and results oriented; follows through to resolve any/all outstanding issues.
