Description

A very successful national logistic services company is seeking a dynamic sales professional to fill the position of Director - Business Development. Company is a profitable, fast growing $800 million+ nationwide logistics (3PL) services company and expanding transportation services. They have grown to be one of the most innovative providers of multi-faceted logistics services in North America. National sales home office gives flexibility on location.

Responsibilities:

Need a dynamic sales results oriented professional; preferably experienced in non-asset based transportation services, brokerage, Intermodal and logistic services industry; who can quickly step in drive results for a fast growing integrated logistics service leader.

  • Meet or exceed sales performance goals and objectives.
  • Produce new customer service business, and maintain/expand current profitable customer base.
  • Organize, plan, execute, and produce the sales and marketing function of transportation logistics services in support of company’s corporate mission and goals.
  • Prepare annual Sales and Marketing budgets and production forecast.
  • Interface Sales and Marketing information with each service segment’s Operations/Customer Service Departments to ensure an efficient flow of information.
  • Provide marketing and competitive information as a key member of the sales team.
  • Accelerate the development of transportation service segments including dedicated contract carriage, network and multiple source logistics assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Logistics or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with TMS software implementation and analysis.
  • 8-10 years successful experience as a logistics sales executive in non-asset based Transportation Logistics Services industry / selling dedicated transportation services is required.
  • Excellent sales performance results in transportation/logistic services market.
  • Demonstrated professionalism with excellent executive communication skills.
  • High energy, dynamic leader who can motivate and inspire a logistics team to perform.
  • Contract negotiations experience resulting in profitable partnership relationships with regional and national logistics clients.
